With her new series DIVERSITY REFLECTED, Bianka Yetgin expands the conceptual foundation established in her earlier body of work DIVERSITY. While the original series explored the balance between shared origin and individual expression through layered compositions of primary colour, this new chapter introduces a structural transformation of the work itself.

In DIVERSITY REFLECTED, Yetgin physically cuts her completed paintings into a grid of precise squares. These fragments — each carrying the history of the layered pigments, inks, and resin — are then carefully reassembled into new compositions. Between the painted segments, mirrored plexiglass elements are inserted, creating a rhythmic dialogue between colour, reflection, and space.

This intervention fundamentally shifts the role of the viewer. The mirrored surfaces do more than frame the work; they activate it. As one approaches the piece, reflections of the surrounding environment and the viewer themselves appear between the painted fragments. The observer becomes visually embedded within the composition, momentarily occupying the spaces between the colours.

Through this interplay, Yetgin extends her central idea: that diversity is not static, but continuously formed through interaction. The painted squares represent the individuality of each element, while the mirrored surfaces introduce a living, shifting presence that changes with every viewer and every moment.

Where DIVERSITY proposed that we share a common foundation while expressing ourselves uniquely, DIVERSITY REFLECTED invites the audience to experience that principle directly. The work becomes a dynamic system — part painting, part reflection — where identity, environment, and perception merge.

Each piece begins from the same essential materials, yet evolves through fragmentation, recomposition, and human presence. The result is a work that is never fully complete without the viewer: a visual reminder that diversity reveals itself most powerfully when we recognize our place within it.
