Bayne’s work is animated by the concept of materials as witness—the belief that urban fragments carry memory, pressure, and lived experience. Treating the street as both collaborator and archive, Bayne integrates harvested elements—remnants of advertising posters, tape, and street-worn residue—with paint and ink, using concrete and gel medium to embed language, obscure meaning, and build dense tactile surfaces. The resulting works mirror the city itself: layered, weathered, volatile, and continuously renewing.
